Sabattis ADVENTURE Camp Team

Now is the time to decide to join the great team that will become the 2020 Sabattis Adventure Camp Staff. We are an adventure-oriented Scouts BSA Resident Camp and a High Adventure Trek Base located in the heart of the Adirondacks of New York.

Training

Required staff training will begin on Thursday, June 25 for all senior program staff age 18 and above. Arrival is the afternoon of Wednesday, June 24 with first meal in camp being that evening. For staff age 17 and under, arrival is noon on Sunday afternoon, June 28. We will be providing transportation to camp from the PPC Scout Service Center in Cedar Knolls that morning.

Sabattis Adventure Resident Camp will operate the following 4 weeks: July 5 to 11, July 12 to 18, July 19 to 25, and July 26 to August 1. Resident Camp staff will be released after dinner on Sunday, August 2, and CITs will be provided transportation to Cedar Knolls PPC Service Center after breakfast on Sunday, August 2.

Sabattis High Adventure Base Trek Program will operate for the following 5 weeks: July 5 to 11, July 12 to 18, July 19 to 25, July 26 to August 1, and August 2 to 8. Trek staff will be released at noon on Sunday, August 9.

All applicants are expected to be present for staff duty both during the entire training period and the entire camp program, as per scheduling requirements noted.

What we offer

We offer the following to each of our staff members: Excellent pay, great food served in our exclusive staff dining hall, three staff T shirts, a staff hoodie, staff headgear, paid fees for all required staff training and certification, respect from the camp administration, 24 hours off from Saturday noon to noon on Sunday when camp is in operation, indoor housing for adult staff and wall tents on a platform for junior staff members. As part of team-building during staff training week, we will participate in an all-hands whitewater rafting trip down the Hudson River and tethered hot air balloon rides.

Staff Code of Conduct

We require you to be an exemplary staff member representing the Boy Scouts of America. You will commit to the Code of Conduct for staff members. You must be prepared to accept a Leadership Role. As such, you will be fondly remembered for your conduct and leadership by the campers you will contact during the summer.

We are looking to fill positions in the following areas: Shooting Sports, Ecology, Scoutcraft, Aquatics, COPE & Climbing, Trek Leadership, High Adventure, Ranger and food service.
